This Privacy Policy explains how Borkovic Media Inc., operating through its BMEvents division, collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you use the BMEvents website, request a quote, book a livestream, watch an event, or communicate with us.
Borkovic Media Events / BMEvents is a division of Borkovic Media Inc. Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) applies to private-sector organizations in Alberta, and the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) applies to private-sector organizations that collect, use, or disclose personal information in commercial activities across Canada.

Alberta’s privacy commissioner explains that private-sector organizations generally need consent to collect, use, or disclose personal information and must have a reasonable purpose for doing so. We collect the following types of information:
We use personal information to respond to quote requests, plan livestreams, provide event streaming and recording services, create event pages and access codes, coordinate with venues, deliver recordings, process payments, communicate with clients, improve our website, and maintain the security of our services.
Specific operations include:
BMEvents records livestreamed events as part of its service. Event recordings may include attendees, speakers, performers, guests, staff, students, family members, volunteers, and other individuals present at the event.
The client or event organizer is responsible for obtaining any permissions, notices, releases, or consents required for the event to be livestreamed and recorded.
This is especially critical for environments involving schools, children/minors, performances, churches, funerals, private corporate events, and any copyrighted music, theatrical performances, or slides.
BMEvents streams are accessed through the BMEvents website using an event code. BMEvents provides the event code to the client or event host. The client decides how the code is shared, including privately, by invitation, by email, on a website, or on social media.
Anyone with the event code may be able to access the livestream or replay while access is enabled.
Clients should understand that sharing the code in public channels (such as public social media posts) effectively makes the stream accessible to the general public.
We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers and contractors when needed to deliver BMEvents services. Third parties may include YouTube/Google for livestream hosting, website hosting providers, email providers, payment processors, cloud storage providers, analytics providers, contractors/team members helping produce an event, and venues or event organizers when needed.
BMEvents livestreams are hosted through a dedicated BMEvents YouTube channel and accessed through the BMEvents website. YouTube and related Google services may process information according to their own policies. BMEvents does not control and cannot guarantee the privacy practices of YouTube or other third-party infrastructure.
The BMEvents website may use cookies, analytics, or similar technologies to understand website traffic, improve the user experience, and protect the site. If BMEvents uses analytics or cookies, those tools may collect basic technical information such as browser type, device type, pages visited, and approximate location.
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including providing services, maintaining records, resolving disputes, and meeting legal or business requirements. Event recordings are provided to the client after the event. Replay availability through BMEvents may vary by event and will be confirmed as part of the booking.
We use reasonable physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Alberta PIPA gives individuals a framework for requesting access to their own personal information, and private-sector organizations subject to PIPA include corporations and other commercial organizations. You may contact us to request access to or correction of personal information we hold about you, subject to legal limitations.
BMEvents may stream school events, recitals, performances, and events where minors are present. The client, school, studio, or event organizer is responsible for confirming that the event may be livestreamed and recorded and for obtaining any required permissions.
